Miss Jane Baldwin is our non-clinical partner and is responsible for the overall management of the practice, its services and its personnel. She is accountable for all non-clinical procedures and policies. She also maintains links with the wider NHS organisation to ensure that the practice remains abreast of current initiatives.

Operations Manager

Mrs Caroline Baldwin, our operations manager, is responsible for the daily running of administrative services within the surgery. She is also the first point of contact for suggestions or complaints.

Our Practice Team

The Practice Nursing Team

Our practice nursing services are managed by Sheila Jestin (RGN, Nurse Practitioner (BSc Hons), Diploma in Health and Social Welfare, Independent and Supplementary Prescriber, Diploma in Asthma, Diploma in Diabetes, Family Planning Certificate, Cytology, Registered Smoking Cessation Advisor). The nursing clinics are provided by Sheila and her nursing team, Karen Jones (RN, Asthma, Cytology, Registered Smoking Cessation Advisor) and Helen Smith (RGN).

The nurses work closely with the doctors and, in addition to administering routine treatments, run special clinics and are able to advise you on a variety of health problems.

The health care assistants, Heidi and Alison, support the nurses and doctors within the practice by providing services such as phlebotomy, blood pressure reading, urine analysis, and ECG reading. This information is used by the doctors to diagnose and treat their patients.

The Practice Support Team

The practice administrative team (receptionists and secretaries) will deal with your enquiries and requests as efficiently as possible whilst respecting your confidentiality.

The Dispensers

The dispensers provide a dispensing service for patients in rural areas and those temporarily resident within the area. They are also responsible for processing repeat prescriptions for all practice patients.

Health Visitors

The health visitors run their own clinics at Community House (Allhallowgate) and help with childcare, growth and development, feeding problems and preventive healthcare in all age groups. Patients can contact the health visitors on their own direct phone line: Ripon (01765) 645932. There is an answer machine facility available; if you have need for urgent or emergency care, please ring the normal surgery number.

District Nurses

The district nursing team is based at Ripon Community Hospital and gives nursing care to housebound patients who are unable to attend the surgery. Their skills range from simple dressings, injections and nursing assessment to care of the terminally ill and palliative care. The district nurses also have their own direct line, (01765) 643551 with answer machine facility; if you have need for urgent or emergency care, please ring the normal surgery number.
